Get Started

The Recipe Browser provides you with a convenient way to explore your recipe collection.

The recipes are organized in categories such as vegetable dishes, meat dishes, or desserts. The root folder contains a sub-folder for each category. Inside these folders you store all corresponding recipes in PDF format.

In order to give your collection a nice touch you can now create an additional sub-folder with the name _folders. Copy an image for each category (PNG format) into that folder. The names of the images have to match the corresponding categories.

Having done that, you are ready to start. When you start the app for the first time you have to choose the root folder of your collection. You can change the location at a later point in time.

After the root folder is loaded you see an overview of your categories. You can now either directly enter a search term in order to perform a full-text search of you entire collection, or you can select one of the categories.

The next page shows the found recipes. The items can be sorted either by name, creation date, and by the date they have been prepared the last time. The first page of the selected recipe is displayed on the right side.

In case you plan to cook the current recipe on the next weekend, just pin it to the favorite list. You are getting to favorite page by pressing the favorites button either on the recipe page or on the category page.

Now, there is only one thing left: Start cooking!
